The best books on decluttering, hoarding behaviour and chronic disorganisation.

It is a questions I get asked a lot - “what books are there to support the decluttering process?” I thought I would write a list and you can try heading to World of Books for a cheap second hand copy. Some of these books listed are self-help books, some are great to give to family members to help them understand hoarding behaviours better and some are just practical workbooks. I have also included some works of fiction as well, as I think we learn from stories - they give us a different kind of insight.

Here goes…

Understanding Hoarding - Jo Cooke

Overcoming Chronic Disorganisation - Jo Cooke

Buried in Treasures - David F. Tolin, Randy O. Frost and Gail Steketee

Declutter - the get-real guide to creating calm from chaos - Deborah Robertson

A Pragmatic Approach to Chronic Disorganisation and Hoarding - Linda Fay

Making Space - Sarah Tierney

The Woman who Kept Everything - Jane Gilley

The OCH also have a reading list that I would recommend.
